Salsa in the Square – May 6 – Merengue

FREE dance lessons at the CHurchill Square Salsa in the Square is BACK once again for its Spring 2025 edition of latin music, dance, and community! Make sure to register yourself for a free class in learning a small portion of the most beautiful Latin dances meant to make you move and enjoy life. Thanks in major part to the Edmonton Arts Council for presenting this event in part with ETOWN SALSA. We have 5 weeks lined up for this spring with a level 1 @6pm and level 1.5 lesson @6:30pm and a social dance from 7-8pm. We have also a special live band night on our finale night June 3 with Rumba Caliente and special time from 6-9pm with a level 1 lesson in Mambo @6-6:30pm, then 6:30pm -7:30pm with Rumba Caliente, level 1.5 lesson in Mambo @7:30-8pm, then 8-9pm once again with Rumba Caliente. Make sure to register so you can get full schedule of upcoming workshops at the Square. Our link below will get you a FREE class in any one of these. Register also for a reminder! A FREE 75 min class in Latin dances including Salsa & Bachata with demo's in Merengue and Cumbia as well. Get a taste of each dance!  Please only register for one of the 3 dates available to allow others to participate. To participate you must each register first here, you will be sent a reminder 24 hrs prior. Please bring a clean pair of shoes for your in person class.  The classes that will be available this semester are Latin Dance Program / Salsa Lev 1 / Bachata lev 1 / Salsa & Cumbia lev 1 / Latin Combo SCHEDULE OF DANCE FOR FREE IN-PERSON SESSION -30 min each in the following order. Bachata  Salsa  Last 15 min wil have demonstrations in Merengue and Cumbia and discussions of how the classes are layed out.  note: Please must bring a clean pair of shoes. No outdoor shoes. Flats or Latin heel for ladies, dress shoes or shoes with no or little tread. Needs sole to swivel easy. Please register for only ONE of the open house classes to leave room for other new students.
